Description

Low-profile bioptic NCR 7874 scanners are designed to achieve the highest performance, ease of use and flexibility among this class’s equipment representatives. These low-profile scanners are ideal for checkout nodes with a limited scanner area and a seated cashier: the NCR 7874 optical system allows you to read barcodes placed on any of the six sides of the product while occupying a minimum amount of space in the checkout node. Even in narrow cash boxes with a depth of 50 cm, when the compact NCR 7874 scanner model is installed, there is enough space for installing the vertical cash box.

Best in class performance

OFX (Optical Effects Technology) technology and the well-thought-out design of the optical system allow forming a mesh of 54 scanning lines in a significant scanning area, significantly increasing the cashiers’ performance. At an engine rotation speed of 7,000 revolutions per minute, 6,300 lines per second are formed in the scanning area. The scanner quickly finds and reads difficult-to-recognize barcodes, including small, damaged and torn in half.

Intuitive interface

To simplify the interaction of the cashier with the scanner, there are 5 LEDs on the front panel of the scanner, which show the success of reading the barcode and the general status of the device. Three touch buttons allow you to adjust the volume of the successful barcode scan signal easily, set the “zero” on the weight module that is optionally installed with the scanner, or manually activate the optionally installed anti-theft sticker deactivator. Scanner programming has never been so easy: the free specialised software allows you to change any scanner setting, load them into the scanner via the interface cable, and save them to a file so that they can be used in the future for programming other scanners. The bioptic NCR 7874 scanner is equipped with many technical solutions that make it easier to service and increase the flexibility of the device’s configuration. They allow you to protect the device’s investment and reduce the scanner’s overall value. For ease of maintenance, the device is structurally divided into three service parts: to repair the entire scanner, only five screws of the same type need to be unscrewed. Scanners support several interfaces: RS232, RS232 with +12V power supply, IBM RS485, standard USB and USB with +12V power supply (USB PlusPower). Additional handheld barcode scanners can be connected to the NCR 7874.
